GameLog: The Last Story

*Contains spoilers

Here is my very first GameLog of the awesome game, The Last Story! (Yes, I'm using that as my starter sentence. It works.)

As I said in the review for the game, by the way, once I beat the game I'll give an overall review. Anyway, you start off by being put straight into a mission. This is nice, because it isn't started in some cliché way, and it's also interesting because you have to learn everything about your character. Your character is Zael, this really awesome dude who has feathers in his hair, and he's a mercenary. A mercenary is, as I see it, a step down from Knights. Knights are looked at with great respect, and mercenaries aren't. They are given jobs and mission, mostly to go kill these lizard creatures in dungeons, (Really fun, right?) but people just don't like mercenaries...For some reason. Now that I think about it, it could be because they aren't good enough to become knights, they're somewhat wannabe's, and because ordinary mercenaries aren't nice. This group, however, is!

So, you start out right in the middle of a mission, you have to learn controls, which are awkward but you sort of get used to them, and you meet your team. They are the bomb. Syrenne is my favorite, because she looks like any video game should, hardcore, and has really awesome hair. Plus, she has a snarky attitude, so I quite like her. And the leader of the group, Dagran, (Spelling may be wrong) who's awesome and says he's going to make everyone a knight one day. There are others, too, but they're regular little awesome-looking people. You can glide right through this mission, and then you go into town. The town is really huge, and you get to do some exploring, meet people, people will ask you to do things for them, like find them parts to make something and they'll give you something useful. But that's where you meet...Lisa!

The relationship between Lisa and Zael isn't hidden at all. Their likings for each other is obvious. So that adds on to the plot, as well. Now you have a group of mercenaries wanting to become knights, and there's a girl wrapped in there. You have to run her from the guards, which was actually really fun, running and escaping was awesome because this huge city has tons of alleyways and streets...It's fun.

All fun things must come to an end, however. I had to go on a mission to get medicine, and when I came back it was time to take Lisa home. (She was a runaway.) But first, time to make a romantic trip to the gazing tower and check out some stars! After you do that, Lisa takes herself home and you return to your place of sleeping.

I woke up the next morning and jumped into a mission, guarding at a party in the castle! That was so boring. All you did was walk around and listen to tons of people talk. But, things quickly changed when Lady Calista comes into the picture. Long story short, the enemy kingdom, Guracks (I can't remember their name, but it's something along those lines) which are basically a bunch of weird evil creatures and Ganandorf (Legend of Zelda) people walking around. So, you're thrown into action! You must protect Lady Calista, don't you know.

Now, I'm going through multiple fight scenes to get to the ship where they have milady captured. I'm just as strong as I should be (And I bought the Feather Armor for Zael, since he has feathers in his hair) and I'm gliding through it. I saved right before the ship, and I'll let you know what happens next.

Thanks for reading!

Review: The Last Story

I'm back! And here to stay. I'm sorry for the delay, I hope this makes your taste-buds tingle with happiness.

The Last Story looked like a Final Fantasy game because of it's amazingly beautiful artwork, take a peak:

See? Gorgeous! (My deepest apologies if it's grainy)

Anyhow, it is not a Final Fantasy produced game. It may have the same artwork designer (Dang, I need to know this stuff.), though I'm not sure. Okay...So let's get to the actual review!

You start out right in the middle of a 'mission,' and that was pleasantly different from some stories--Err, I mean games. (Example: Ocarina of Time. You start out by...Wait for it...Waking up) But, even thought it was a nice change, it was hard to get a grasp of what exactly was going on.

Learning the controls was pretty awful, too. When tutorials came on they were hard to understand, and, at least on my television (I chose the crappiest television in my home to play it on, so that may have been my problem, but that's somewhat doubtful.) it was blurry and had crappy graphics. The controls are just odd. I used the regular Wii remote, I strongly suggest using the other compatible remote, the handheld one with joysticks and such.

When you have to fight, the controls are extra difficult. You actually don't have to do much but approach an opponent, and it'll do the fighting for you. This is...Awkward. I like controls that X in punch, O is kick, XO is a combo, and Triangle is your Special Attack. But that's just me.

Going back to graphics. Again, I played on a crappy TV, so disregard some of what I have to say. Okay, keep in mind this is a Wii game, so lovely HD cannot be used. The graphics on the beginning scenes were awful. Blurry, grainy, you couldn't read the words on the screen, yadda yadda. When you finish your mission and go back into town, the graphics magically get better, however, so that's not a very big deal.

The town is awesome. I love these kinds of games where they have an actual constructed town with back roads, alleyways, everything. That was spectacular. Unfortunately, it made it hard to get around town. You got lost a lot and forgot where you were going. The map IS your friend!

Now going on to characters...
The main characters are really intriguing. I can't wait to learn more about them! And for spoilers sake, I won't talk any more about them. Just know: They're amazing.

Now going on to story-line...
OH EM GEE. I'm so pumped about this story-line! It's beautiful. (For lack of a better word) Not only are a large mixture of characters involved, you're put in this confusing, yet wonderfully messed up world, where everyone dresses like Anime characters...YEAH.

And I should say...

The game's rated T, but there's a bit of language, alcohol use, and sexual...Ness. They definitely stay in the boundaries of T, but if you're uncomfortable with that sort of thing, this game isn't the one for you. I also don't support any of that...So...*Cough*

All in all, this is a pretty good game. If you can get through the awkward controls, possibly bad graphics, Rated T-ness, then this is worth playing.

Expect to see GameLogs of The Last Story soon!

The Champion's Beginning Gets COVER ART

Today, The Champion's Beginning, my Fanfiction, got cover art! It's about time, too!

Alright, the big thanks goes out to my great friend SNR. She's an artist who will be doing all my cover art for every story. This art is owned and copyrighted, so you cannot steal. That being said, let's take a look at the evolution of TCB.

This is the original 'art' I had. My awesome hand writing and a few crappy stars. Yeah. Moving on...

This is the original drawn version. SNR did a fantastic job, in my opinion.

And this is the final. The amazingness. If this story was published, this would be on the cover. Very well done.

And now, for the story of what happened to these guys.

Well...Heh. When I got them, I drove back to my place, and I forgot that I had them on the seat with me, so I opened my car door and got out...And then shut the door. Guess what was shut IN the door? Yeah. My pictures. Why does this stuff only happen to me!?

Read The Champion's Beginning on Fanfiction. Summery: Cynthia left her small town to go on a journey much bigger than herself, to become the Sinnoh League Champion. Now with sudden attacks on towns, rumors of rebellion and a horrible current champion who's hunting something, she has Sinnoh resting on her shoulders. When all hope is lost, Cynthia will attempt to save this desperate region. Rated T for violence and dark themes.

GameLog: Assassins Creed, I

*May contain spoilers

This past weekend, I treated myself to the game Assassins Creed, the first one. Since three looks like magic, I wanted to play the first (and not expensive one) one first to see if I like the game. And so, I decided to make a GameLog of this as well. Let us begin!

When you first start out, the story-line is quite confusing, but you get the jist. Your character was born an assassin, left the 'farm', and all of his ancestors are assassins. There's a machine that can access your ancestors memories and let you relive them (Or watch them, I guess?) and that's the game. I think your character is watching these memories, but YOU are playing the game.

I'm currently on the first ancestor. It is set in about medieval times, so it's kind of cool going through Jerusalem and such. (Being a Christian since[Basically, but not really] birth, I know of all these Biblical towns.) It's really cool, because you can do many things, like climb walls and jump on all these things and run from people and hide in haystacks, ya know, all these things you wish you could do in real life, but it's also sort of dumb.

For example: It's a bit hard to navigate through towns, then again I'm still new to the game, and it's hard to know exactly what you're doing and what mission you're on. Again, I'm still new, and this will probably go away with time.

The game is rated M, which isn't the best thing in the world, but it's rated M for mild language (As in D's, H's, and those little things.) and blood. And, obviously, violence. It's actually quite funny, and I started laughing at this, in one scene, one of the dudes thrusts a dagger into another dude, and the blood shoots out like a sprinkler. I died laughing. It was like, slice, shower head of blood comes on.

But, all in all, I'm excited for this game, and I hope I like it enough to get into the series. Wish me luck, though, because I keep getting lost. Damascus, where the heck are you??!!!

GameLog: Kingdom Hearts 3D

*May contain spoilers. I want to take you all on my KH: 3D journey, so every once in a while I'll write up a GameLog. Here's the first one...Let's see how this goes.

The Story of The Fruit Salad

Hello there! Currently, I am not too far in the game. I've been so dern busy I haven't had the time for anything. I've gotten past the very first level, which was Traverse Town, and I got to choose another world from three world. New Tron world, Pinocchio world, and Hunch Back of Notre Dame world. I, thinking that those three worlds were the same fighting level, chose Pranksters Paradise, aka Pinocchio.

...That's where everything went in the toilet. At first I played as Riku (For those who don't know, in KH 3D you get to play Riku and Sora in the same 'world,' but in different dimensions, so to speak. So they're not together, but you don't do the same thing in both 'sides.') in Pranksters Paradise, and he's stronger then Sora (Plus he has stronger Dream Eaters) so I thought I would just breeze through the world. WRONG. I kept dying, and dying, and I DIED so much I got mad at the game and went on strike! I was thinking "This is just the beginning, how am I not where I'm supposed to be?!!"

Now, when I say I died so much, I mean that when ANY opponent came near me and started attacking, I couldn't beat it. So I would die and I wouldn't even go up in levels. I ran from every opponent just trying to get through the level! (Of course, that didn't help me get through the level.)

You're probably saying, "Pure Gamer, why the heck didn't you just go to another world?!" And the answer is: I'm a few plumbs short of a fruit salad.

Actually, I was afraid that if I changed worlds it would mess it up, because since there are two characters and two story-lines (Which they only make sense if you're in the same world, because all-in-all you need both to understand) both need to be in the world. But, I couldn't take it anymore, and decided I would get Riku and Sora to another world.

So I go to the save point. I go to the map. I look at the three worlds again and guess what...They weren't the same level. Not at all. Pranksters Paradise was a combat level EIGHTEEN and Tron was level TWELVE, and Notre Dame was level EIGHT.

Now, I am breezing through wonderful Notre Dame, where everyone happy (Except Riku, he's never happy) and I'm helping Quazzi Modo come out of his shell and watching him and Esmeralda fall in love, and I'm very pleased.

So the moral of the story is: Don't be a few plumbs short of a fruit salad. DO NOT go to Pranksters Paradise first.

The End

Upcoming Video Games

Here's a list, and a comment or two, about the upcoming video games of 2012.

Halo 4. Sorry, Halo doesn't impress me. So I am not excited about this game, thank you.

Assassins Creed III{3}. Okay, I have yet to play Assassins Creed, but I'M excited for this game! The graphics look astounding, which is to be expected anyways, and the story-line looks like it continues into this awesome-looking game. And when there's an actual number to the game, says Kingdom Hearts makers, you know it has to be fabulous. I mean, it's set in the American Revolution and I think we can all agree that when a game reflects a real happening it's downright cool. This game is rated M.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II{2}. Dear goodness, why is this lagging on?! Why is there a black ops two?! COD was slightly fun the first time I played it. But good gracious, I was done with it quickly. Of course this is a twelve-year-old boys game... Which I am not a twelve-year-old nor a dude... So that's probably why I don't like it. So let's cross this off our Christmas list, shall we? But hey, if you're a Duty player... Whatever, go for it.

The Last of Us. Oh. My. Arceus.(I had to y'all.) OKAY, okay. If you don't know what this game is, pay attention folks. This game looks magical. Not literally, in a gory and gross kind of magic. This game is set twenty years after destruction of 'fungus' taking over and killing people, turning them into something that sounds quite gross called The Infected. Well, it sounds gross but it's actually very gross. You die and then the fungus takes control of your corpse. Magical, right? So far only three characters are known, and they're legit. Joel, the main protagonist, is a hardcore dude who takes no crap and is the real thing. Ellie, the main protagonist, is a somewhat 'troubled' teen, or so people think of her, who has lived in this troubled world her whole life. She can get aggressive and is known to be sarcastic with Joel. An interesting character, in my mind. The whole world that has been made is impressive and intense, with The Infected and Scavengers and more. This would be described as "Gross, gory and lovely." My kind of game. I describe a lot of things that way, and when I do it's straight out of the heart, so believe it my friend. This game isn't rated yet.

Pokemon Black & White 2. Let me just say, I had zero interest in BW one, so I don't for BW two. It kind of let me down, let's be honest. And I didn't even play it, but just hearing about it and seeing the Pokemon made me not want to play it. But let's talk about BW2. I'm told that it's going to have a LOT of new features and places to explore (At least that's an upside) and that you can even battle past Gym Leaders. Such as Misty, which is cool in my mind. That would be the only reason why I would get this game, although that would mean the extras would be better then the playtime. If you are going on this black and white journey, good luck to you.

Dishonored. This action game looks like another magical game. Or otherwise known as gory, gross and lovely. The main character (You) is framed for murder and is forced into assassin-hood, making this game look like a whole lot of fun. Not only that, you rock an awesome mask all the time. An awesome mask! So your enemies consist of guards and your friends consist of... Oh wait... You're a creeper who wears a full-face mask, you don't have any friend. I'm sorry to just put this on you now, but you had to know. Actually you have a good list of protagonists, all who I won't say and I'll you figure them out, to help you along in the game. I will tell you, however, the good list of abilities you have. First of all, there's Agility, Bend Time, Blink,  Blood Thirsty, Dark Vision, Possession, Vitality, Shadow Kill, Windblast, and Devouring Swarm. If that doesn't sell it then I don't know what will! It is rated M however. For gore, sexual themes and crude, indecent language. Boo for those who can't play it.

Alright, there's probably more out there, but this is a good list for now, I'd think. Keep on gaming guys, and I will try to update soon.

INTRODUCTION

This is a blog where I get to binge-type (is that even a thing?) all of my thoughts and opinions on video games and video game consoles alike, pretending to have enough knowledge to know what I'm talking about!

Sometimes I post snippets of my Fanfictions, because I am a nerd who writes Fanfictions.

And sometimes I'll post other nerdy things, but mostly, this is a video game blog. Welcome.

It is encouraged for people to comment; I would love to read your opinions about my posts--No matter what! This is just a low-key, pretty much deserted area of the internet where I chose to compile my opinions about video games because where ELSE do they belong except for some wasteland on the interwebz? That being said, your thoughts and opinion can join mine here too. Granted they'll probably die of starvation, but maybe if we gather enough, they can build a fire to keep warm.

Wow, that took a weird turn. And this was supposed to be organized and, don't laugh, professional. Welp, screw that noise.

Anything that isn't brand spankin' new might be a little hard to read. I've had this blog for many years and I've revived it many times, and some of the posts have stuck. Hopefully my newer posts will be more entertaining and enjoyable. But most likely they'll be filled with just as much silliness as my thirteen-year-old self's posts were.

Take my posts for what they are, and have a great day!
