Because I'm a die-hard K Hearts-hard.
Greeting fellow internet nerds and others! Sickly Pure Gamer here, I'm spreading germs and blowing my nose a lot. Yeah, it's a ton of fun.
'nyways, on with it then.
To my understanding, KH 1.5 is a mixture of Kingdom Hearts, Re: Chain of Memories, and 358/2 Days. And by mixture, I don't mean putting the games together in a wacky fashion, I simply mean releasing one game that has two (and really one-fourth) games on it. Why release this game, you ask? Because everyone already has Kingdom Hearts, no one likes Re: Chain of Memories, and there's only one-fourth of 358/2 on it, you ask?
The answer: $$$$$$$$$
Yes, I do believe this is Square Enix screaming "WE WANT MONEY" and "WE MADE DEALS WITH PLAYSTATION."
I can absolutely understand this, though. They want to release it on PlayStation 3 for probably a bunch of reasons I don't really care about, and I know EXACTLY WHY. They have an EVIL PLOT. ...But I'll get to that later.
To me, this game seems like an unnecessary installment. I played Kingdom Hearts however many years ago and fell in LOVE, I don't need to buy and play it again. Granted, it is the "deluxe" version, which has some extra content, but still. That's not enough. OH, but there's also Re: Chain of Memories!!! That makes it worth it!!! Right?!?!
NOPE. I played roughly ten mins of the game before throwing the controller away and burning my tv. That's an over-exaggerated remark, of course. The game wasn't THAT bad. The gameplay was just...Different. The whole using "cards" thing really throws you off and makes battling difficult. Since battling is, I dunno, 99% of the game, that kinda sucked. And you don't even need it to understand the overall plot...So...Yeah. I didn't bother too much with that. BUT WAIT! There's 358/2 on there too!!!!
Yes, there is! 358/2 is easily one of the best, if not THE BEST, Kingdom Hearts game out there. It would definitely be in the Top Three. (Which would be KH, KH 2 and 358/2 Days) The gameplay was flawless, the storyline was BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING and MADE YOU WANT TO DIE (In the good way), the characters were so well constructed and wonderful...Dang, I really can't get over how good of a game that is.
Oh, were you starting to think that I was implying that there's an upside to Kingdom Hearts 1.5? You're WRONG. Remember how I said there was one going to be one-fourth of 358/2? Yeah. One-fourth. And that one-fourth is the cut scenes, no gameplay of that awesome game. Granted, the cut scenes really did make the game what it is, but still! The actual GAME is left out of the equation!
So here's what you have: One really awesome game, (Which you can buy used for cheap, or new for cheap because it's old) a not-so-awesome game which you really don't even have to play much less buy unless this "different" gameplay interests you, and butt-load of amazing, yet time-consuming, cut scenes.
My advice to you is find a cheapy of the original KH online somewhere and get engrossed in the amazingness that is Kingdom Hearts, then if you like it, invest in the other KH games that are so much better then Re: Chain of Memories. Yeah, you can't play it on PS3 (I think), but what's so bad about PS2? And in some cases, DS/3DS? But if you are interested in getting into Kingdom Hearts, like the idea for Re: Chain of Memories, and want to play it all on PS3, be my guest and get this game.
...AND NOW FOR THE EVIL PLOT.
As I said earlier, I feel like this game is an unnecessary addition to the plentiful series of Kingdom Hearts. I mean seriously. In chronological order (I think) it goes like this: Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, Re: Chain of Memories/Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts 2, Re: Coded/Coded, then the latest: Dream Drop Distance. And apparently there are other games online and whatnot, so this is just counting the ones I know of. That's seven, and 1.5 will make eight. Wowza. So yeah, lately the games are getting more and more...Unneeded. Granted, I haven't beaten Dream Drop Distance yet, but so far the storyline is super confusing and doesn't seem to add to the overall at all. It's just like, Square Enix/Disney wanted to bring out a game for 3DS just to bring out a game for the 3DS.
So does it surprise you that they want to bring out a game for PS3? Well it shouldn't. Because it's all apart of their evil plan. There were rumors that Kingdom Hearts 3D (Dream Drop Distance) would be the last one before the long awaited Kingdom Hearts 3, which would be the LAST one. Of course, now that KH 1.5 is coming out, that's obviously not true...But what if it WAS true? What if they weren't planning on adding another game into the mix? It's not like this game is going to contribute to the plot, because it already has, considering the games are already out. So why add this game?
I've thought about it, and I think that they just want to buy some time to wait for PlayStation 4 and release the last KH for that. This makes me unhappy, because I don't have a PlayStation 3, and I probably won't have a PlayStation 4. Why/How am I certain that this is happening?
Because they have only ever released Kingdom Hearts games for DS consoles and PlayStation consoles. Since it's going to be Kingdom Hearts 3, aka a BIG deal, they won't release it for DS or other handhelds. So that leaves PlayStation. And what better then to release it for PS4? It makes sense. Or at least I think it does. On the flipside, because it's going to be super popular, they might just release it on as much as possible for extra sales. This still makes me sad, because playing in on a handheld wouldn't be as great as playing it on a console, but all I can do is hope.
Of course, this is just my imagination running wild. As I said, I'm sick, and ultimately bored. How else would I have had enough time to write all of this down?! And you must be sick and bored, too, because you read this whole thing. Heh. Thanks for reading my fangirlness and ramblings, it's appreciated.
Leave your Kingdom Hearts 1.5 thoughts in the comments below, I want to hear them.

My Assassins Creed Journey
Wow. It has been way too long since I've blogged...Let's just skip the excuses and get on with the post.
As some of you may know, I wrote up a GameLog of Assassins Creed I quite a while ago. Turns out, that game isn't very good...I'll plan on writing up a review and going further into depth about that; to save some space here.
So, after really trying to play it, I was told to just dump it and play the other Assassins Creed I have, Assassins Creed III. I didn't like this idea at first, because I'm such a fan of storylines and I wanted to be able to understand this one...Turns out, I didn't need to play any of the other games to figure this one out.
Since every game(I assume) takes place in different eras and are different ancestors to the main dude, they each come with their own storyline that's fully played out in the game. The "main" storyline, which has the main characters which are in every game, that's really easy to guess what's going on. Of course, me being me, I'd like to hear the backstories of these characters and such...But that's just not necessary. I'm too wrapped up in Conner and his story that when something from the "main" storyline comes into play, I just sit their anxiously waiting to return to killing Redcoats.
I won't be continuing ACI, so don't expect to see GameLogs on that...I'm sorry! I suck, I know. BUT, I'm ALMOST done with AC3, and I will write out a lengthy, honest review on that. Just for you guys. SMILE.
